ABOUT US

The Anti-Poverty Toolkit is aimed at strengthening the teaching and research on poverty-related topics around the world. Anti-Poverty is the first of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by 195 countries of the world in the UN General Assembly in October 2015. The Anti-Poverty Toolkit is envisioned to be a clearing house of open, online educational resources for scholars around the world to access, share, and update to raise standards of teaching and research in the field of anti-poverty. Our Toolkit will provide teaching resources for academics worldwide to prepare the future generations of business managers, public officials, and civic leaders to contribute to the fight against endemic poverty, extreme poverty, and inequality worldwide.

The Anti-Poverty Scholars' Network

"Founded in 2007, PRME is a United Nations membership organization comprised of about 800 business schools in 95 countries that are committed to PRME’s six principles of developing responsible business leaders with significant knowledge of how to create sustainable value for organizations and society... In 2008, the Anti-Poverty working group became PRME’s first working group, due to poverty’s global scale and the limited integration of the topic into most business school curricula."

This website was designed and created by Radford University’s Political Science student Emily Jenkins to host the Anti-Poverty Toolkit. The open educational materials in the Toolkit were sourced and synopsized by Emily Jenkins, Gabriel Bennett, Haley Nunez, and Rachel Sharrett; a student research team with advice and editorial support from Dr. Tay Keong Tan of Radford University, and peer-reviewed oversight by Mr. Milenko Gudić and Dr. Al Rosenbloom, Co-Chairs of the UN PRME Anti-Poverty Working Group. The development of the Toolkit and this website was generously supported by Radford University's College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences, Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship, Center for Global Education and Engagement, and Political Science Department.
